First seen in February at menswear designer John Elliott's fall/winter '18 show at New York Fashion Week, Nike is giving its polarizing Air Monarch sneaker—arguably the forefather of the "dad shoe" trend—an makeover which results in an even trendier look and a higher price tag to boot.

Officially known as the M2K Tekno, this Monarch update features revamped branding and paneling, along with a chunkier midsole than ever. It also comes with a higher price tag, as inline iterations of the model will retail for $100, a considerable hike from the Air Monarch 4's $65 tag—especially considering those can often be found at outlets for sub-$50.

Curiously enough, Nike's official product description for the M2K Tekno does not make mention of extra width sizes, an aspect which has been a key feature of the original Monarch.

The M2K Tekno is confirmed to release this fall in "Black/Black/Off-White/Obsidian" (above), along with "Pure/Platinum/Black/Sail/White," "Dark Grey/Black/Baroque Brown," and "Pueblo Brown/Black/Rainforest."
