Jimmy Jazz Is Trying to Make the Black Air Force 1 Cool

Jimmy Jazz's new 'Unsung Heroes' campaign highlights figures in local communities and the triple-black Nike Air Force 1.

When it comes to the Nike Air Force 1's countless variations, the sneaker's all-white colorway remains the (near) undisputed favorite. On the flip side, the model's triple-black style is less celebrated, yet equally versatile to those in the know. In order to show the all-black AF1 in a new light, Jimmy Jazz is rolling out a campaign centered around "unsung heroes" in Harlem.

The campaign highlights Harlem residents who have been key figures in their local communities such as a school crossing guard of 26 years and a public school principal. Beyond the uplifting clips, Jimmy Jazz is hosting a special event for what it calls the "official shoe of the unsung hero," the black Air Force 1.

Through Sunday, the retailer's Harlem flagship store will offer black Air Force 1s with customization options. Custom capabilities include laces, dubres, tongue tags, and screen printing. The event is open to the public and customization is free with purchase of the AF1.
