At the top of the year, we broke the news that adidas would be debuting black Boost foam on a "Triple Black" colorway of the NMD Runner, and after a few false starts, it looks like the sneaker's release date has finally been locked in.
This "Triple Black" NMD Runner, which has also been called the "Japan" NMD for obvious reasons, features a nearly all-black Primeknit upper that's contrasted by a few dashes of white around the ankle collar.
The NMD's trademark EVA plugs feature Japanese characters that translate to "The brand with the Three Stripes," but the real standout feature here is of course the tonal black Boost midsole, something we're sure to see more of in the future.
Here's what we know about the release date. Japanese blog Japanican is reporting a June 10 launch, but like so many of adidas Originals' recent NMD drops, that date is more than likely the international—not the U.S.—release date. Furthermore, given the sneaker's theme, there's also the possibility that this colorway will drop exclusively in Japan, although that seems unlikely given the high demand for these.
