Last night, LeBron James added another accolade to his legendary resume when he passed Michael Jordan for 4th on the NBA's all-time scoring list. Rather fittingly, James achieved the feat in a LeBron 16 PE inspired by one of MJ's most popular signature models, the Air Jordan 3.
The pair featured a white Battleknit 2.0 upper with purple and gold detailing to match up with the colors of the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron's Dunkman logo was stitched on the tongue in place of the Jumpman seen on the Air Jordan 3. Elephant print panels were replaced with a grey and black graffiti graphic that wrapping the toe and heel. "Nike Air" stitched on each heel tab acts as another nod to the celebrated MJ signature. The overall color scheme appeared very similar to the highly-coveted "Kobe Bryant" Air Jordan 3 PE.
James even added a personal touch to his pair to pay further homage to his childhood hero by writing "Thank You M.J. 23" on the left midsole in black marker. Despite the monumental moment for one of the greatest players in NBA history, the Lakers fell to the Denver Nuggets last night by a score 115-99.
