Once a retro basketball model synonymous with Scottie Pippen that popped up every few years in OG stylings, the Air More Uptempo has gained a new identity in the past year or so. Nike has taken the popular silhouette and outfitted it in a multitude of colorways ranging from callbacks to some of Pippen's most memorable moments, to celebrations of major cities. Now, the Air More Uptempo is being dressed up to celebrate another location around the world—the country of Italy.
This pair takes a very literal approach to its Italian inspiration by splitting the model into three sections that mimic the country's flag. Green leather wraps the heel, white is used for the mid-section, and red covers the toe. Each of the letters in the Air More Uptempo's signature "AIR" logo is also written in an accompanying color. White Swooshes are located on the heel and toe box.
There is currently no official release date for the "Italy" Nike Air More Uptempo.
