Martine Rose's interesting take on the Nike Air Monarch 4 is getting a wider release this weekend after initially dropping in limited fashion on Craigslist late last year in a pink style.
The London-based designer has transformed the infamous "dad shoe" by fitting size 18 uppers onto size 9 midsoles. The result is a warped appearance that makes the already bulky shoe even chunkier than it usually is. Rose's creation will be offered in two colorways. One uses the classic white and navy blue colorway the Air Monarch 4 is best known for. The other gives a tweak to the "Triple Black" color scheme with a shiny patent leather upper. Martine Rose branding has been added to the side panels and insoles as well.
Interested buyers will have the chance to cop the most expensive Air Monarch 4s ever when they hit Nike SNKRS and other select retailers on Saturday, Jan. 12 for $250 each.
