It’s no secret that Montreal is known for its bagels, but what if eating them isn’t enough to express one’s love for both bagels and the city that’s known for them? Thanks to “Montreal Bagel” Nike Dunk Low, fans of both Montreal and bagels can finally sport the shoes that were made just for them.
The shoes are beige with sesame seeds sprinkled all across, making the shoes look, well, like a bagel.
“You know the saying: The sweeter the bagel, the sweeter the dunk,” the description reads on Nike’s website. “Bringing fresh-baked style to the streets, this delicacy of a design rings you in with carb-lover colors, plus a pinch of Montreal blue for an extra shout-out to the city from la belle province. Garnished with sesame seed graphics and finished with a gum-colored sole, it’s satisfyingly easy to style—‘cause everything goes better on top of a bagel.”
As reported on Sole Collector, the shoes are slated to go on sale on Jan. 17 at 10:00 a.m. on SNKRS. But as you likely know, the SNKRS app isn’t available in Canada and as of yet it’s not on the upcoming release calendar on the Canadian SNKRS website.
Montreal-based boutique Off The Hook are Nike’s official partner and have the exclusive early access launch to the sneakers’ release on Jan. 13 at their store. To celebrate, they prepared a promotional video paying tribute to Montreal’s morning bagel routine culture.
The “Montreal Bagel” Nike dunk lows will retail for $160 CAD and be available to the general public at Off the Hook on Jan. 13. All pairs in Canada come packaged in a Canada-exclusive custom box designed in collaboration with artist Chien Champion.
