Since its creation back in 2010, Pensole Footwear Design Academy has provided hungry designers with a stage to show off their talents. Under the watchful eye of sneaker architect and former Jordan designer D’Wayne Edwards, students put their skills to the test with the hopes of turning a dream into a career.
Looking to crown a new sneaker design champion, Pensole announced that its "World Sneaker Championship" will take place at Parsons New School for Design in NYC. Set to run from May 27 to June 20, 21 prospects will take part in a four-week master class, where one design will be selected and manufactured to be sold at retail.
In order to be eligible for the scholarship, and attend the class, each student has to submit one original footwear design sketch. Applicants must be at least 19 years of age or 18 with a year of college under their belt.
Deadline for all applications is March 30, 2014. All applications can be submitted via the Pensole MESH101.
