All eyes will be on Serena Williams at this year’s US Open as the tennis legend has confirmed that this will be her final tournament before retiring from the sport. For the send-off, Williams and Nike have designed a special outfit for her to wear in her quest for her 24th major title.
Shown here is Williams’ on-court kit for the 2022 US Open, which is inspired by competition apparel worn by figure skaters. The top is encrusted with diamonds that reference the night sky at the tournament, while a six-layered skirt is a nod to Williams’ six tournament wins.
Williams will also wear a PE version of the NikeCourt Flare 2 that features a diamond-encrusted Swoosh along with her initials on the medial side. The shoe also comes with gold lace lubraes that feature 400 hand-set diamonds created in partnership with Serena Williams Jewelry.
