Continuing that trend is this previously unseen Balenciaga x Adidas collab courtesy of @Apolloluo1976 on Instagram. It’s not hard to see that the collab uses the Balenciaga Triple S model as its base but unlike prior releases of the shoe, Three Stripes overlay panels appear on the sides while co-branding is printed on the heel tab. The shoe dons a white-based color scheme and is offset with black accents throughout reminiscent of the Adidas Superstar.
This collaborative Balenciaga Triple S isn’t the only high-end collab from Adidas that’s expected to be arriving soon. Last month, Gucci revealed its upcoming apparel and sneaker collection with the Three Stripes.
As of now, Balenciaga and Adidas have yet to confirm that a sneaker project is in the works but check back soon to Sole Collector for new developments including an official word from the brands.
UPDATE (05/22): Not only did Adidas and Balenciaga confirm their collaboration today, but the brands made a full collection available to pre-order. The sneakers and apparel, which were officially unveiled during a runway show in New York, include white and blue-based colorways of the brands’ collaborative Triple S, a women’s Speed Sneaker, and a wide range of clothing. Prices begin at $595 for a pullover head mask and peak at $5,500 for a bull skin jacket. Arguably the pieces everyone will be after, the two Triple S sneakers, are priced at $1,100. Pre-orders are being accepted from now until May 29 at balenciaga.com. Be advised that some of the pieces, such as the shoes, won’t be shipped immediately.
UPDATE (11/03): After the initial pre-orders for the collection went live in May, Balenciaga and Adidas’ footwear and apparel collection has officially launched today. The sneakers in the capsule include co-branded Triple S ($1,150), Stan Smith ($800), and Sock Runner ($995) styles, which are now available at adidas.com/balenciaga, balenciaga.com/adidas, as well as at select Adidas and Balenciaga stores.
