Next up for Kevin Durant's Nike KD 9 is a Texas-themed pair that references his time with the Longhorns. While Durant only spent one season at the University of Texas, he remembers his time there fondly.
"Attending UT was one of the best experiences of my life and launching the KD 9 back in Austin this past June reflects my love for the college experience I had 10 years ago," said Durant in a short piece on the shoes at Nike.
As alluded to by Durant, Nike unveiled his latest signature shoe at an event in Austin.
The Nike KD 9 "Texas" will release on March 10. Before that, the UT women's team will wear the sneakers on Saturday, March 4, at the Big 12 tournament. Aside from this retail pair, Nike has created a couple other "Texas" KD 9s as player exclusives this season.
