Adidas released its latest quarterly earnings report on Thursday, with the brand again showing the sort of strong growth it needs to catch up with Nike. Per the Q2 2017 report, Adidas sales overall are up 19 percent on a currency-neutral basis to $5.97 billion.

The combined sales of Adidas and Reebok grew by double digits in all regions except Russia. Particularly strong results came from China, where sales are up 28 percent, and North America, where sales are up 26 percent.

"Both sales and net income from continuing operations increased strongly. This is [a] testament to the continued momentum our brands enjoy across our key regions and channels," said Adidas CEO Kasper Rorsted. "Based on the strong first half performance, we are raising our full-year guidance."

Adidas has seen some of its top competitors stumble while it continues to build momentum. Both Under Armour and Nike recently announced that they were laying off 2 percent of their respective global workforces in the wake of slowing sales.
