Earlier this year, adidas Basketball dropped a game-changer with the introduction of the adiZero Crazy Light, the lightest basketball shoe on the market. Shedding a little more weight, adidas is set to release a low-cut version of the Crazy Light early next year, which will tip the scale at about 9.2 ounces.
The collar of the shoe has obviously been dropped, creating the need for additional padding around the ankle and heel areas. Three-Stripe branding has also been repositioned, running from the ankle to the eyestay on the lateral and medial side panels.
Pictured here is a Derrick Rose colorway, similar to the mid that released in June. The shoe features black synthetic and SPRINTWEB construction with light scarlet red accenting the tongue, footbed, adiZero stripe and outsole. White fades to black on the Stripes, while grey appears at the top of the tongue. Rose's name and signature appears on a tab positioned along the midsole.
