The status of Drake's sneaker deal has been a rollercoaster this past year. Following rumors he'd be leaving Jordan Brand for an Adidas line, that plan seemed make a 180-turn, with the rapper regularly being spotted in Nike as of late. Most recently, Drizzy dropped the line "Checks over stripes/That's what I like," on the cut "Sicko Mode" from Travis Scott's Astroworld project, to further confirm his allegiance to Beaverton, Oregon sportswear institution.

In what could be the final nail in the coffin for Drake's potential partnership with the Three Stripes, last night he took to Instagram to show off a new iteration of the Air Max Plus paired with the caption, "for stage use." The sneaker sports a black upper, baby blue hit on the shank, all-over rope lacing, and an exaggerated pull tab on the heel. The caption implies that it will be rocked on stage by the rap superstar during his current Drake and the Three Amigos tour that recently kicked off.

It is currently unclear if this pair is a tweak on the '90s runner made especially for Drake, or if the remixed design is queued up for a retail release in the near future. Either way, showing love to the Air Max Plus does fall in line with the rapper's known love for British culture as the model is popular in London street style.
