Apart from being one of the most thrilling movies of the year, Netflix’s The Harder They Fall also features a brief but touching tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman.

The Jeymes Samuel-directed western film, which debuted on Netflix on Wednesday following a short theatrical run last month, includes a shot that shows a train clearly labeled “C.A. Boseman.”

Seen in a moment in which Idris Elba’s character is transported on the train, around 27 minutes into the film, the easter egg is in clear view when Lakeith Stanfield and Regina King’s characters walk past. It’s an obvious tribute to the late actor, full name Chadwick Aaron Boseman, who would’ve perfectly complemented the already stellar cast that includes his Da 5 Bloods co-star Delroy Lindo.

The easter egg was also highlighted by the Netflix Twitter account, Strong Black Lead.

Our favorite trivia from #TheHarderTheyFall might be the fact that the train is named after our forever king, Chadwick Aaron Boseman. 🖤 pic.twitter.com/wahEALnftR

Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016, but he kept that private until his death in 2020. His final film was Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, which was released posthumously later that year. He’s also since showed up in four episodes of Marvel’s What If…?, posthumously reprising his role as T’Challa from Black Panther.

Last month, Howard University and Netflix teamed up to offer a $5.4 million scholarship fund named after the late actor.
