Lindsey Pearlman, an actress with roles in General Hospital, Empire, Selena: The Series, and more, was found dead on Friday following a five-day search after she had gone missing.
The Los Angeles Police Department said Pearlman, who was 43, was found in LA several miles west of where she was last seen, per CNN.
“Today around 8:30 a.m., Hollywood Area officers responded to a radio call for a death investigation at Franklin Avenue and North Sierra Bonita Avenue,” the LAPD said in a Friday statement. “The L.A. County Coroner’s Office has since confirmed the individual to be Lindsey Erin Pearlman.”
Pearlman, who used to do theater work in Chicago, was first reported missing after she didn’t return home on Feb. 13, and as her friends and family called for the help of the public.
“I’m deeply sad to report that they have found Lindsey, and it was too late,” her cousin Savannah wrote on Twitter. “I have no other information about the location or circumstance. Lindsey was a fierce animal advocate and a talented actress. Please consider a donation to [Santé D’Or] in her honor.”
Savannah later shared the number to the National Suicide Hotline, at the request of Lindsey’s sister.
In a statement to E! News, Pearlman’s agent also confirmed her death, writing that people close to her are “deeply saddened by Lindsey Pearlman’s passing today. The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time while they process and grieve.”
