Kylie Jenner took to Instagram this weekend to defend Travis Scott following the Astroworld tragedy.

“Travis and I are broken and devastated. My thoughts and prayers are with all who lost their lives, were injured or affected in any way by yesterday’s events.”

A video of him performing on the stage went viral, which showed him seemingly watching the crowd as people were getting trampled and not reacting to the situation. There was also criticism that he continued to perform for 40 minutes as chaos ensued in the crowd.

“And also for Travis who I know cares deeply for his fans and the Houston community, I want to make it clear we weren’t aware of any fatalities until the news came out after the show, and in no world would have continued filming or performing.”

She continued, “I am sending my deepest condolences to all the families during this difficult time and will be praying for the healing of everyone who has been impacted.”

Travis released two statements regarding the eight lives that were lost and hundreds who were injured at the Houston, Texas festival. “I’m honestly just devastated … We’re actually working right now to identify the families so we can help assist them through this tough time,” he said in a video.

Kylie is currently expecting her second child with Travis. She was present at the festival with their 3-year-old daughter Stormi, but were not in the same area as the general public.
