Chris Hardwick Loses AMC Show and Multiple Comic-Con Panels Following Abuse Claims

Chris Hardwick denied any mental and sexual abuse allegations after his ex-girlfriend, Chloe Dykstra, published a lengthy personal essay about the abuse she allegedly suffered around the time she was dating Hardwick. However, the media personality is suffering severe consequences. AMC has announced they're pulling his show Talking with Chris Hardwick, and he's been dropped from several panels he was supposed to moderate for San Diego Comic-Con.

"We have had a positive working relationship with Chris Hardwick for many years," read a statement from the network. "We take the troubling allegations that surfaced yesterday very seriously. While we assess the situation, Talking with Chris Hardwick will not air on AMC, and Chris has decided to step aside from moderating planned AMC and BBC America panels at Comic-Con International in San Diego next month."

The talk show was scheduled to return this Sunday with guest Donald Glover, but it's unlikely the interview will ever surface. TMZ reported Hardwick was also pulled from an appearance at the music and comedy event, Kaaboo Festival, in California that was set to take place later this year. Earlier this week, Nerdist also cut all public ties with Hardwick, who founded the site.

Although AMC canceled Talking with Chris Hardwick, they have yet to make a statement about Hardwick's other show on the network, Talking Dead, which comes on after their flagship series, The Walking Dead. Hardwick also hosts NBC's game show, The Wall. However, NBC has yet to make a statement on whether or not Hardwick will continue his hosting duties with them.
