Depending on where you are, it may or may not be hot as hell today. In that spirit, Netflix is welcoming summertime with a Stranger Things-teasing clip titled "Summer in Hawkins."
No spoilers here, but the clip does include some well-delivered threats of a lifetime pool ban from Billy and his mullet. Catch the clip up top. For reference, the song that comes in around the 23-second mark is indeed The Cars' 1978 song "Moving in Stereo." The song was previously quite prominently featured, in instrumental form, in the pre-El Chapo era Sean Penn comedy Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Stranger Things returns for its third season July 4. Star Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, recently toldEntertainment Tonight during some Godzilla: King of the Monsters promo that fans should expect some changes for her character in the new episodes.
"Eleven's character evolves greatly," she said. "And I can say it's spreading fast. And that's all I can tell you."
A full trailer for the new season, which marks the first in the series to break from its annual release pattern, dropped back in March and would definitely appear to back up Brown's "evolution" talk. The tagline—"one summer can change everything"—also points to some major Hawkins rumblings.
The series stars have all stayed busy since we were last plopped down into Hawkins. In addition to Brown going blockbuster with the aforementioned Godzilla, star (and Calpurnia frontman) Finn Wolfhard was reported earlier this year as being in talks to join the 2020 Ghostbusters sequel, a very fitting casting move:
