Though it's sometimes hard to fathom, non-iPhone smartphones do exist and, yes, people definitely use them. In fact, one of the leading models of the Appleless smartphone industry is Samsung's Galaxy Note. As true Samsung heads already know, the company announced on Thursday that the Note 5 would officially be available on August 21, boasting some impressive though subtle design changes.

Of course, the Note 5 represents an important moment in Samsung's history. As noted by the Verge, Samsung once dominated the larger smartphones (so-called phablets) market but has recently suffered some market setbacks thanks to Apple's foray into similar territory. At the cost of losing waterproofing and its removable battery feature, the Note 5 will now possess the same glass front, glass rear, and metal frame as the Samsung Galaxy S6. Though no 128GB option will be available, users can choose either a 32GB or 64GB model with the added security of 4GB in RAM.
