Pete Davidson, who's been steadily releasing SNL-debuted parody tracks in the spirit of social distancing, joined his The King of Staten Island collaborator Judd Apatow on Thursday's Tonight Show.

Before the two took a dive into the creative process behind the movie, co-penned by Davidson, the Big Time Adolescence star shared that a recent announcement video regarding King's VOD release inspired a fan to quickly act on what they believed was an immediate need for weed.

"Me and Judd released this video to kinda try and get it out there that the movie is coming out," Davidson said. "I mentioned that I wasn't doing drugs, that I was trying not to. And then literally three hours later, a lady rang my doorbell with a full bag of weed and gave it to my mom and said 'I heard your son needs this.' So, if you see this, please do not do that because I will sell it."

To be fair, Davidson followed this anecdote with one hell of a wink to the camera, as you can see in the full clip above.

The Davidson x Apatow x Fallon chat was well-timed with the debut of a new trailer for the Universal-backed movie, which also stars Marisa Tomei and Bill Burr:

Catch The King of Staten Island from the comfort of home starting June 12.
