Good morning. This is a reaction post. For the uninitiated, that literally means we gather up a bunch of tweets in response to a major event we've deemed important due solely to the stature of the people writing them. Celebrities have large platforms from which a voice of reason can do a lot of good for a lot of people, especially when the very idea of what it means to be a celebrity seems to have now been reinvented with sinister intentions. But I digress.

As previously mentioned, these are tweets from celebrities in response to an election that has now sent global stock markets into a frenzy and has many non-celebrities pondering what to do next. Simply put, many Americans are fucking terrified of what exactly this presidency will mean for issues like immigration, healthcare, and racial inequality. This collection of tweets won't do a fucking thing, but you can read them below to feel a little less alone in your convictions that nothing about this post-election mourning will pass anytime soon:

I want to see @realDonaldTrump 'a birth certificate.

OLIVIA POPE is trending. But Olivia Pope is not real. Whats real is the need for love today. LOVE yourself. Take CARE of you & your loved 1s

Hold your loved ones close tonight. Let 'em feel it. Get some sleep. Back at it tomorrow. Love has a longer wick than hate & fear.

— Patton Oswalt (@pattonoswalt) November 9, 2016

Go through all stages tonight.
You are allowed to feel however you like.
Take stock of your heart.
See you tomorrow.
We are all still here.

Today we must continue to stand for what we believe in: love, acceptance, equality, fairness and respect for all. We mustn't be divided.

— Kris Jenner (@KrisJenner) November 9, 2016

We must reach out & hold on to each other... To our friends, families, communities who share our common goals of unity, compassion & faith.

— Kris Jenner (@KrisJenner) November 9, 2016

I will continue to #spreadlove and fight hate at all costs.

We stand together. We stick up for the vulnerable. We challenge bigots. We don't let hate speech become normalised. We hold the line.

The easy thing is to keep your head down & let the bullies run amok. The right thing to do is to challenge racism, misogyny and hatred.

When do we start googling "What is Brexit?"

— Sarah Silverman (@SarahKSilverman) November 9, 2016

I've never been so wrong being right.

— Larry Wilmore (@larrywilmore) November 9, 2016

This is an embarrassing night for America. We've let a hatemonger lead our great nation. We've let a bully set our course. I'm devastated.

Keep your heads up.
