"Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" Delayed Until 2014

Sorry, everyone.

If you were excited about lining up to see the long-awaited Sin City sequel, A Dame to Kill For, on its planned release date of October 4, 2013, we've got some bad news: According to ComingSoon, the film has been delayed yet again, so it will not be coming soon. It's new release date is August 22, 2014, nearly a year later than originally anticipated.

Though disappointing, it's not completely out of the blue if you look at the timeline of pre-production Sin City: A Dame to Kill For went through before finally beginning filming in October 2012: It's been talked about since the first Sin City was released in 2005, and a script was said to be completed in 2007. Then, shooting was supposed to begin in 2011, but final touches to the screenplay pushed those plans back to mid-2012—then, eventually, October of that year. No word on what's behind this new delay in a release date, but hopefully it's the last because we'd kind of like to see this movie at some point in our lives.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is directed by both Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, and it boasts a gigantic cast featuring, amongst others: Josh Brolin, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Eva Green, Dennis Haysbert, Christopher Meloni, Jeremy Piven, Jamie Chung, Ray Liotta, Juno Temple, Julia Garner and Stacy Keach.
