Best In Show: The "Saturday Night Live" Cast's Strongest Sketches

If you need a palette cleanser from the Barry Gibb Talk Show theme song (and we know we do—disco is dead for a reason), don’t worry, we got this covered. The show had a lot of great musical acts this season, but no one quite stood out like the one and only king, Kanye West (not even Lady Gaga with her weird-ass stage shows).

Not only did he deliver one of his greatest performances, but the entire stage was transformed for the set as well, turning it into more than just a performance. It was art. But enough of that sappy shit—just watch the video and see for yourself.

Going to have to give that to Justin Timberlake, simply because with him generally comes Jimmy Fallon. And with Jimmy Fallon generally comes The Barry Gibb Talk Show sketch, which has a theme song so catchy that it’ll probably be stuck in your head for days (basically, it's stuck in ours and we don't want to suffer alone.)

He doesn’t look much like Will, but just wait and see – it’s like he becomes him. In a totally not creepy way.

Now, we loved Black Swan as much as the rest of the world did, but this was, oddly, a pretty accurate depiction of the film.

Like the other newcomer cast members, Taran Killam doesn’t really have a recognizable character just yet. But anyone who can do the robot as flawlessly as he does in this above clip deserves from praise, because it’s actually pretty fucking hard to pull off. Props.

Being one of the newbie cast members, Paul didn’t have much this season – but this clip is still pretty solid. Though, if our fair nation were being attacked by a fire-breathing dragon, we probably wouldn’t want to hear about it from him. Nothing against him though, of course, it’d just be nice if the bearer of that bad news looked more like Kim Kardashian or something.

Yeah, Miley Cyrus is still annoying even when portrayed by somebody else, but it was one of the only recognizable clips Vanessa Bayer had this season, so we’ll deal.

Coincidentally, this is where we bought our outfits for prom.

As one of the last female powerhouses left on SNL – in the vein of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey – Kristen Wiig just has so many recognizable characters that it’s damn near impossible to choose just one skit that stood out this season. So, we went with the most admirable: These game show skits usually fall flat, but with Kristen there it doesn’t even sputter. That’s a feat if we ever saw one.

Unsurprisingly, it’s a digital short with this guy. Now, there were a lot of them this year that were pretty memorable–Shy Ronnie 2, 3-Way (The Golden Rule), I Just Had Sex, to name a few–but one truly stood out, not only for entertainment value, but educational as well!

How else would we know how to spot the creepers if not for The Creep? How would we know what Nicki Minaj looks like as a creeper? Exactly. Questions we don’t want to ask ourselves.

Seth Meyers has been holding Weekend Update down solo for a while now, and he’s actually doing a pretty admirable job. For the most part, it’s always a pretty solid segment, so the above video is more just relevant than it is his best. Because, really, he’s just saying what the rest of us were thinking. Balls of steel, this man.

When Charlie Sheen was still relevant and hilarious, this was pretty fucking funny. Now, even though Charlie Sheen is no longer relevant or hilarious, this is still pretty fucking funny. The mark of a good skit, boy and girls. Take note.

Remember that time Eleanor Roosevelt made out with Marilyn Monroe? We should have paid more attention in history class.

President Obama’s got swag. Love him or hate him, this is an undeniable fact. Similarly, Fred Armisen’s got swag, as displayed in the clip above where he flawlessly portrays Obama going through somewhat of a Charlie Sheen-ian phase. #Winning doesn’t even begin to describe it.
