Mashing up clips from cartoons, sitcoms, or movies with seemingly incongruous rap songs was hilarious the first couple of times, but there are only so many instances of Spongebob rapping along to YG that the world needs.

The Internet and Miley Cyrus, who will henceforth be referred to only as She Who Shall Not Be Named, ruined twerking, a previously entertaining and and innocent enough pastime. But the surfeit of struggle twerking videos was unnecessary and excruciating, and we'd like to pretend it never happened.

Seriously, who's supposed to clean up the resulting mess? Kids these days.

Poor Jimmy McMillan. His very serious political career will forever be immortalized as an unfunny, overused meme.

Racism is still alive and they're not even concealing it. This trending topic was the scum of the scum. It was essentially a collection of the worst anti-black woman bigotry under a single, convenient hashtag.
