OnlyFans millionaire Nala Ray is once again at the center of an internet firestorm after making a bold claim about her former line of work.
In a recent interview with Fox News, Ray — who has since pivoted away from adult content and into faith-based lifestyle content — argued that OnlyFans and adult content creation shouldn’t be considered “real work.” Speaking about U.S. immigration policy and so-called “extraordinary ability” visas, Ray said, “OnlyFans work and adult content is not real work and shouldn’t be allowed, even to cross our borders to get even more infiltrated into our society.”
“I don’t see adult content as good work,” she continued, adding that she does view other forms of social media creation as legitimate. “I do think that other people from other countries who do come to do real work on social media here, is a good thing. I don’t see why we should ever ban something like that because being on social media is hard work sometimes.”
Some viewers applauded Ray for speaking out, particularly those who support her highly publicized shift toward Christianity. Others, however, were far less impressed — including Twitch streamer Dan Dangler, who quickly weighed in.
On Tuesday, February 3, Dangler reshared a clip of Ray’s Fox News interview on X (formerly Twitter), adding a pointed caption of her own: “Funny how some people only call it ‘not real work’ after they cashed their checks.”
It didn't take long for reactions to pour into the comments section.
"The tea kettle calling Ex OF black," one person wrote, referencing the irony of someone who made millions on the platform now denouncing it.
"I really think she disenfranchised herself when she hit a ceiling. I actively encourage people to make their own life better than it was yesterday. But to dump on the only reason people know you because YOU'RE done with it is not okay," said another.
For those in the dark, Ray’s comments come amid a dramatic personal and professional transformation. During a recent conversation with Religion News Service, Ray reflected on her time as a top earner on OnlyFans, saying she cashed in on millions before walking away from the platform. “I made more money than most NFL players,” Ray said. “I could have anything I wanted. It’s a very big false sense of empowerment.”
In that same interview, Ray shared that she was baptized in late 2023 and began speaking publicly about leaving adult content behind. “God has this cleansing process, the sanctification, and it’s a beautiful thing,” she explained. “Sometimes it hurts, and I’m going through that now.”
Since then, Ray has appeared in several interviews discussing her past, her religious conversion, and her desire to discourage others from following a similar path. Her Fox News appearance marks one of her most explicit critiques yet of the industry that made her famous — and wealthy.
Dangler, meanwhile, has spoken openly about the realities of making a living online. In a Digital Social Hour interview, she described streaming as “one of the hardest jobs,” citing the long hours and the mental grind of having to stay “on” with “no commercial break.”
“It’s very mentally draining,” she said — a point that helps explain why she pushed back on Ray’s comments about what does and doesn’t count as “real work.”
