Avengers: Endgame has finally had its global release, and continues to shatter records. Though many people have yet to watch it, the internet is littered with spoilers from people who can hide behind the safety of a screen.

In real life, spoiling an event such as this is a more dangerous game, and a man in Hong Kong had to learn this lesson the hard way. AsiaOne reports that a man was left beaten in front of a Causeway Bay theater after he began yelling details about the movie. After the man, who was not identified, finished watching the film, he began spoiling it for fans, which led to a group pummeling him for doing so.

The issue of people saying too much about the film grew to the point that the Russo brothers, who directed the film, pleaded with fans to not ruin the excitement for those who have yet to see the conclusion to the epic saga. Yet, people (some with large followings) continue to do exactly that. While  a number of different ways to prevent encountering spoilers do exist, idiocies such as this are sometimes unavoidable. While the excitement for the film is completely understandable, it is possible for a person to discuss it without leaking any information (our Endgame review is a perfect example).

The lesson in this is simple: unless you are prepared to get the brakes beaten off of you, don't spoil the movie. If one were to discuss the film with someone who hasn't had the pleasure of seeing it, probably refer to the ending of this Wale tweet, then choose words carefully.

I don’t know bout y’all ... but a “spoiler” is ANYTHING pertaining to the movie... I don’t care if it was trash to u I don’t care if a character said something that has zero to do with the story... can I please see and hear it pure like u did , Chatty Patty. Thnx bye
