If you're wondering whether Hollywood is still racist, whether times have changed, etc., etc., then I'm sorry to say, times are still tough for POC actors. In a new interview with Nylon mag, It Girl-slash-goddess Zoe Kravitz (who should honestly be cast in EVERYTHING) has said her ethnic background stopped her from getting a role in Dark Knight Rises. "In the last Batman movie, they told me that I couldn't get an audition for a small role they were casting because they weren't going urban," Kravitz said. "It was like, 'What does that have to do with anything?' I have to play the role like, 'Yo, what's up, Batman? What’s going on wit chu?'"
*Screams into void*
Yeah, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
And yet Hollywood would happily break historical accuracy to give white people all the roles (*side-eyes Exodus: Gods and Kings*). Also, *forever side-eyes Aloha.* Kravitz has had small roles in 2015's stand-out films (Mad Max and Dope; no, Insurgent doesn't count) but homegirl needs to be cast as a lead in something really awesome soon.
