Netflix really knows what the fuck they are doing. With the anticipation for season 2 of Strangers Things being so high, they know full damn well that stans like myself are going to pounce on any little piece of intel they drop. Initially it was the announcement of their Super Bowl ad back in February when everyone thought it contained a release date of Sept. 8, 2017 for season 2. That ended up being false, as the Super Bowl ad actually listed "Halloween" as the release date. At the time, I thought it was odd to say Halloween, considering that Halloween falls on a Tuesday, and Netflix religiously drops their content on Fridays.
Today, Netflix released a poster that seems to be sticking to their normal Friday release schedule, with season 2 of Stranger Things getting an official release date of Oct. 27. Also, this poster is dope AF!

They were even kind enough to give us a timeline of events in the Stranger Things world.
1953, date unknown - MKUltra comes to Hawkins and begins experimentation
1979 - Police Chief Jim Hopper returns to Hawkins

2016, July 15 - Part 1
2017, October 27 - Part 2
Interesting to see that Netflix noted when Hopper returned to Hawkins. Is this pointing to something larger? Time will tell. For those who missed it the first time, here's the Super Bowl teaser for season 2 of Stranger Things.
