The next television series in Marvel's Cinematic Universe is Marvel's Cloak & Dagger, which premieres on Freeform this Thursday (June 7) with a two-hour event. The show follows Tyrone (Aubrey Joseph) and Tandy (Olivia Holt), two high schoolers who aren't necessarily cool with each other but end up becoming their only friends after they both gain extraordinary powers. The series will follow them trying to discover what their powers are, why they got them, and how they will be able to deal with each other.
In the exclusive clip up above, we find Tyrone's mother (portrayed by Gloria Reuben, who you may remember from Mr. Robot) confronting Tyrone about missing school, and his whereabouts. Things get heated, but then they get very real, as a shared tragedy changes the trajectory of their heated back-and-forth. You can see that Tyrone's mother is concerned about and protective of her son. You can also see that Tyrone has secrets he can't divulge, even to his mother. One has to wonder: how far will Tyrone go to keep his loved ones safe?
The Gina-Prince Bythewood (Beyond the Lights)-directed two-hour series premiere of Marvel's Cloak & Dagger premieres at 8PM on Thursday, June 7, only on Freeform.
