ROBERT PATTINSON as Batman in Warner Bros. Pictures’ action adventure “THE BATMAN,” a Warner Bros. Pictures release.

Euphoria’s Season 2 finale left many of us with extra time in our hands to catch up on shows and jump into the latest releases. While it’s tough to compete with the drama the HBO hit series provided, there are new offerings this week that will keep you just as entertained until Season 3 drops (whenever that is). It’s looking to be a promising weekend for the box office since Matt Reeves’ The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz, is finally hitting theaters. It seems like an eternity ago that the first photos from the set made the rounds on social media, and now the wait is over.

Amanda Seyfried is starring in Hulu’s latest miniseries, The Dropout, which follows the rise and fall of biotech entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes. There have been so many stories about scam artists that have taken over pop culture recently, and this one looks to be just as juicy. This week also marks the bittersweet return of Better Things. The Pamela Adlon-created FX series is back this week with its fifth and final season, and it’s a must-watch. We’re three months into the year and so far, 2022 has not disappointed in terms of entertainment. This week is aiming to keep that fire burning giving fans a superhero movie they’ve been waiting for, and TV shows to keep everyone entertained through the weekend. Check out our choices for What to Watch this week below, and check back in next week for more.

When: March 4

Where: In theaters

In a 2022 that still features three(!) releases in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (we get Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness this May, Thor: Love and Thunder in July, and the Black Panther sequel in November), DC’s coming in hot with a new take on Batman, titled The Batman, from director Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) with Robert Pattinson on board as the Batman. With a cast that features Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as their Penguin, and Paul Dano as Riddler, each actor got to cement the character as their own, to varying degrees of camp. The film is a ride, presenting you with a case that the Batman has to solve, and all of the adventures he went on while trying to solve it. You’re taken through a dark Gotham, seemingly ready for some unrest. Many are calling this one “epic,” but it definitely feels like one of the more must-see DC films of late. —khal

When: March 3

Where: Hulu

If you missed the Elizabeth Holmes fiasco as it unfolded, you’re in luck. Hulu’s latest miniseries tells the story of a promising young entrepreneur who developed a healthcare technology that put millions of patients at risk. Holmes was the founding CEO of Theranos, a company that claimed to have revolutionized blood testing with new methods that used small amounts of blood. Forbes named Holmes the youngest and wealthiest self-made female billionaire in America in 2015 after Theranos was valued at $9 billion. All of that came crashing down when a Wall Street Journal reporter began investigating Theranos and found that their Edison blood-testing device gave inaccurate results and that the company was mostly using machines manufactured by other companies for their testing. Holmes was eventually convicted of criminal fraud.

The Hulu mini-series is based on a podcast of the same name that chronicled the company’s rise and fall. Amanda Seyfried will star as the biotechnology entrepreneur. Lost’s Naveen Andrews, Shameless’ William H. Macy, Roseanne’s Laurie Metcalf, and 13 Reasons Why’s Dylan Minnette are also part of the cast. If you’re like me and love mess and were hooked on shows like Inventing Anna and The Tinder Swindler, The Dropout is for you. —KR

'Better Things' (Season 5)

When: Feb. 28

Where: Hulu

It’s sad to see one of the better series on television drop its final season. What Pamela Adlon has done with Better Things, the series she largely formed out of her own two hands, based on her own life, has been remarkable. So has been seeing these three young ladies grow as performers. It’s like watching family grow. And at some part, they have to go and live their lives and you won’t be able to see them anymore, but that’s why you make this last time you have with them count. And maybe you will see them again; Adlon’s currently working on a podcast based on Better Things. Maybe this isn’t goodbye. —khal

'Snowfall' Season 5, Episode 3

When: Mar. 2

Where: Hulu

If you allow me to get a little personal, the last few months haven’t been easy. Keeping up with Season 2 of Euphoria as a lot. I knew folks weren’t ready when I did a non-stop seven-episode binge somewhere around New Year’s. Maybe it hit me deeper than I realized. Whatever the case may be, now that Season 2 is in the can, I have time to jump with into Season 5 of Snowfall, and this week’s episode clinched it: the FX series is cooking.

Without giving too much away, know that there’s been a time jump between Seasons 4 and 5, with an increase in status coming with that. Now Franklin Saint (played by the dynamic Damson Idris) is seeing how his life is changing and is looking to move towards a calmer future now. As the world is wont to do, it’s never as easy as trying to make a transition, right? What’s interesting is to see how everyone tries to maneuver through life’s hurdles.

Season 5 doesn’t just find Idris in top form; the entire damn cast is on point. Top to bottom. By the end of this week’s episode, you’ll get the same feeling as we do: something foul is afoot. Catch up now before you get spoiled in a few weeks, trust! —khal

Prime Video announced at the Brazil Comic-Con in December that they were releasing a new eight-episode animated anthology series set in The Boys universe, titled The Boys: Diabolical—and it’s already here. The new series tells untold stories from The Boys world told by Hollywood stars including Awkwafina, Garth Ennis, Eliot Glazer, Ilana Glazer, Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg, and Aisha Tyler. “We’re almost finished with eight episodes of our animated series, Diabolical,” The Boys executive producer/showrunner Eric Kripke said at the time. “We gathered together some incredible creators and we gave them one rule…just kidding, there’s no rules. They blew the doors off it.” The Boys will return with Season 3 later this year. —KR
