Thieves are getting futuristic. Rather than hit ATM machines, they're apparently stealing bank rugs in New York City. According to the New York Post, the NYPD arrested a man who's suspected in at least six Chase ATM vestibule thefts in the Upper East Side and Lower Manhattan. Fifty-five year-old William Footman has been detained by police who are reviewing surveillance footage to determine whether or not he was involved in another 32 carpet crimes.

It's almost a perfect crime, because would you pay attention to someone walking out of a bank with carpets? Probably not. However, the Post reports that Footman was hustlin' backwards—he was selling the $400 rugs to a bodega in Harlem for $30.

That's a crime.
