Bob Kane didn't but Batman on the map. Neither did Frank Miller.

There's a city in Turkey named "Batman." That's right, Batman, Turkey exists; it's the capital of Batman Province. The city was a village by the name of Iluh until 1957, when it was renamed Batman, not because of The Dark Night himself, but because of the Batman River (which also has no connection to that Batman).

In an inevitable confrontation, the mayor of Batman sued Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. in 2008 (in the wake of The Dark Knight's success, of course), alleging that "There is only one Batman," as well as a few other ridiculous claims.
