The body of a woman New Jersey reported missing earlier this week was discovered after her landscaper buried her alive, authorities say.
NBC New York reports that Fatima Perez, 41, was reported missing on Monday after departing her Camden, N.J. home to purchase a car. Her body was discovered two days later, roughly 20 miles away in Monroe Township. Perez's landscaper, Carlos Alicea-Antonetti, and one of his workers, Ramon Ortiz, have been arrested in connection with her death. According to NBC New York, police have pieced together Perez's final moments:
Alicea-Antonetti and Ortiz reportedly droved to a secluded wooden area, placed a bound and gagged Perez inside and poured lime over her body. In an attempt to cover their act, they reportedly placed branches on top of it. During conversations with police, both Alicea-Antonetti and Ortiz confessed to burying the woman alive.
Alicia-Antonetti was reportedly found with $7,000 on him when he was arrested, and both men face murder charges.
