A Florida couple arrested after they were caught having sex at at retirement community last month has been sentenced to six months in jail, officials say.
On the morning of Oct. 1, 40-year-old Charm Gilbert and 47-year-old James Adams were seen going at it on top of an electrical box at the 55,000-resident community dubbed The Villages. A deputy with the Sumter County Sheriff's office was sent to deal with the spectacle, and he arrived to find Adams, dong out, and Gilbert with "her shorts and underwear fully off exposing her vagina."
Despite living less than a mile from the scene of the incident, Adams told police the duo opted for public fornication because they "[didn't have] any other place to go."
Both Gilbert and Adams were convicted on indecent exposure and disorderly conduct charges last week after pleading no contest. In addition to jail time, both will have to pay upwards of $1,000 in court fees and fines.
In other words, it wasn't worth the thrill in the long run.
