As we eagerly anticipate the long-awaited arrival of Final Fantasy VII Remake in the coming months, Square Enix has released its latest trailer at The Game Awards centered around Cloud Strife, a former Shinra soldier who becomes a mercenary for AVALANCHE in their fight against the Shinra corporation.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is for, lack of a better term, a remake of the original game which came out in 1997. However, the new version will be split up into multiple parts in an effort to go further in-depth with the stories that were previously explored. The plan is for Square Enix to release a few subsequent "episodes" in the future. This, of course, will not take away from what gamers loved about the original.

"From the beginning, we thought a Final Fantasy VII remake would be bigger than a single release," Final Fantasy VII original director Yoshinori Kitase explained. "If we took everything that’s in the original game and remade it at that quality, we couldn’t get it all on a single release."

The latest trailer is now three months removed from the last time we got a look at what was in store, specifically with Reno, Rude, and Tseng, for FFVII Remake, which will reportedly remain on PlayStation until March 3, 2021 where the game will assumably move onto Xbox and PC.
