According to the Twitter account of Variety’sJeff Sneider, Hugh Laurie will not be appearing as the villain in director Jose Padilha’s remake of Robocop. And with shooting expected to begin next month, it looks like the production is going to have to find someone else to take the role soon. Take a look at Sneider’s tweet below.
Even without Laurie, the Robocop cast includes some great talent like Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael Kenneth Williams, and Joel Kinnaman. The movie is currently set for an August 9, 2013 release.
