Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the murderous Negan on the Walking Dead, had some input when asked which superhero he'd like to play. Once the question had been posed, Morgan landed on Lobo of DC Comics.
During ‘An Evening with Norman & Jeffrey,’ where Morgan and Walking Dead co-star Norman Reedus were in attendance, the actors were asked which superhero characters they are dying to play. Morgan replied, “Who’s left? Who hasn’t been played by one of the Chrises?”
“The only one I want to play is DC and Lobo. He’s badass,” Morgan stated. “Marvel, I don’t know, everyone that’s in it is pretty good. I feel like all the greatest characters, they’re working.”
This isn't the first time the actor has expressed a desire to play the character. In 2009, after playing a role inWatchmen, he expressed interest in playing Lobo. He may be in luck, as talks of a Lobo movie has reportedly been in the works since 2009. Now, almost ten years later, we don't fully know where the discussion left off. Dwayne Johnson was reportedly tied to the film at one point, with Brad Peyton set to direct.
As a ruthless interstellar bounty hunter, it's no surprise that Morgan intends on playing the character at some point. Negan has built the foundation for a proper jump-off.
