We may all know crowd funding website Kickstarter as the website that brings innovation to fruition. It’s an online community where individuals pledge money to a notable endeavor in order for its creator to bring the vision to life. Kickstarter encourages its user to create, think outside of the box, and challenges them to come up with something spectacular.

In the time since Kickstarter launched, it helped to fund some pretty awesome gadgets including virtual gaming headsets and, of course, Pebble. The website usually focuses on getting projects off the ground that truly deserve to be made. This is not one of those times. There’s a new project on Kickstarter that can finally give your iPhone the accessory it’s always been missing: a handle.

From the mind of Yonathan Assouline comes the Fonhandle. The Fonhandle is a handle that attaches to your iPhone … obviously something everyone needs. If you need to a few more inches to take that group selfies, get the Fonhandle. If you have T-Rex arms and can’t actually hold a phone to your ear, the Fonhandle is coming to the rescue.

The Fonhandle has raised a little over $2,000 of its $22,000 goal with 43 days to go, making the likelihood it achieves its goal fairly decent. It comes in a variety of colors, including a lovely fake wood option. As useless as some may deem this idea, let’s sit back and remember the Potato Salad Kickstarter fiasco from a few weeks ago.

Think about it, if the Fonhandle actually gets made, imagine all the possibilities. It can double as a gardening tool, a spatula, a Ping-Pong racquet, and probably a method of self-defense if you fling it hard enough.

The future is here.
