10 Gadgets That Will Make You Feel Like a Kid Again

For the times, this phone was awesome. It let you do what most 90s phones did: make a call, accept a call, and play Snake. Sure, looking back at it now, it's pretty lame. But, back in the day, you were one of the cool kids if you had this in hand.

Right around our middle school days (or elementary for some), the iMac was introduced (1998 for the Jeopardy buffs). At the time, we had no idea how to use it, but considering the colors and the fact that it wasn't a square box, it was pretty exciting. With the plethora of computers we have at our disposal now, it's nice to sit back and think of a simpler time.

LEGO blocks were every kids go-to gadget no matter what the occasion. When the LEGO Mindstorm RIS came out, it was like Christmas had come everyday. You got to build anything, at anytime, and just have fun with your friends.

Initially introduced for middle school math, we all know what we really used this calculator for: hacking it to get games like Snake and Tetris. Sure, our smartphones have far more advanced games now, but it doesn't hurt to remember the original from time to time.

As kids we were enrolled in every extracurricular activity under the sun. Piano lessons were certainly no exception. Although many of us never became famous composers, the old school Casio Keyboard was an awesome part of our childhoods.

Ah, the pre-iPad days. The PalmPilot was released back in 1997, and went for $299 for a personal edition and $399 for the professional. So, likely, you weren't one of the kids to get one. (Today, that would be like a kid carrying around an iPhone 5S.) But if you happened to get your hands on one when an adult wasn't looking, it was a pretty badass thing to play with.

Long before fancy smartphones were around, there was the pager. A tiny little device that every kid begged their parents for. Usually hooked to a jean loop, and in retrospect, wildly unfashionable, the pager was the ultimate communication tool. If you don't remember, let us remind you: get a page, run to the nearest phone and call the number back, hoping it was someone cool and not your mom telling you to come home.

Maybe your parents didn't let you have an actual dog, or maybe you just found this new (for the time) technology to be super cool. Either way, this electronic dog was awesome and a mock pet for many of us.

Sure we have selfies now. However, the original selfie was all thanks to this webcam. Basically, we'd all sit in front of this thing and take endless pictures of ourselves for whatever social networking website was popular at the time. Basically it foreshadowed exactly what we now do for Instagram. Ah, nostalgia.

Reflecting on it now, Furby was actually a little creepy. Back in the day, having a Furby was your in with the cool kids. Aside from the fact that it woke you up in the middle of the night, we all miss this little piece of our childhood.
