Jordan Peele's 'Twilight Zone' Reboot Getting Second Season

CBS All Access has agreed to renew Jordan Peele's reboot of the classicThe Twilight Zone series for a second season.

In a statement to Deadline, the streaming service's executive vice president of original content Julie McNamara announced their commitment to the popular anthology series in addition to praising its co-producers Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg.

"Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg's reimagining of The Twilight Zone is off to an amazing start on CBS All Access, driving the most viewers on its premiere day for an original series to date," McNamara stated. "Jordan, Simon, the creative team, and cast have done a phenomenal job translating the series’ legacy of socially conscious storytelling for modern day audiences. They are master storytellers, and we look forward to bringing fans further into The Twilight Zone with a second season."

It was first announced that CBS would reboot the show that aired on the network from 1959 to 1964 in 2017. CBS explained that they would be partnering with Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films to put a modern twist on Rod Serling's creation for its All Access users. After a rocky start, The Twilight Zone found its footing and has become the streaming services highest-rated show.

The Twilight Zone features Peele as Jordan Peele as host and narrator with a cast that includes Sanaa Lathan, Jesse Williams, Seth Rogen, and more. Along Peele and Kinberg spearheading the project, Win Rosenfeld, Audrey Chon, Glen Morgan, Carol Serling, and Rick Berg assist in bringing The Twilight Zone to life. The show's first five episodes are currently available on CBS All Access with a new episode dropping every Thursday.
