Rapman Announces Russell Crowe As First Cast Member Of His New Movie 'American Son'

After the whirlwind success of his 2019 debut feature film, Blue Story, British writer and director Andrew Onwubolo—better known as South London's Rapman—​​​​​​​has now announced that his next film, American Son, which is a remake of the critically acclaimed French flick A Prophet, will star Russell Crowe in a lead role.

Best known for his appearances is huge Hollywood films such as Les Misérables and Superman: Man Of Steel, the news of Crowe accepting the role has received an unreal reception on Twitter after Rapman himself announced the news.

As well as Russell Crowe's appointment, it has also been reported that Dennis Lehane has penned the screenplay for the movie with Paramount Pictures backing the project.

It appears the stars are well and truly aligning for Rapman, who signed with JAY-Z's Roc Nation last year after his online series Shiro's Story went global. By the looks of it, he's excited to get to work:
