A pair of trademark filings from Paramount Pictures have revealed that a video game (or two) based on the film adaptation of hit novel World War Z is on the way.
The two trademarks indicate that the studio may license two separate games (or at least two versions of a single game) for different mediums.
The first trademark reserves the license for; "entertainment services, namely providing online electronic games."
The second was filed for; "downloadable electronic game programs; electronic game software for handheld devices; and video game cartridges/discs."
The games will likely be tied to the upcoming film, also produced by Paramount, starring Brad Pitt. The film adaptation of World War Z will hit theatres in 2013.
No publishers or developers were mentioned in filings, so I imagine it's going to be a little while before we get a chance to see World War Z in action.
