Aaron Sorkin May Pen Steve Jobs Biopic

"The Social Network" screenwriter tops the studio's list.

The eponymous Steve Jobs biography only arrived in stores on Monday and already, the film adaptation is rolling ahead. Sony, who purchased the rights to the biography for as much as $3 million right after Jobs’ death, is reportedly after The Social Network scribe Aaron Sorkin to write the screenplay.

Sorkin seems best suited for the task, already tackling the story of another brilliant, generation-defining tech pioneer with a divisive personality in Mark Zuckerberg. Not to mention, his last film, Moneyball, was another adapted, biographical work, focusing on Oakland A’s general manager and statistician Billy Beane.

Resume aside, Sorkin’s involvement would be all the more fitting since he actually knew Jobs personally—in fact, Jobs had asked him to write a Pixar film.
