One man is dead and five others are injured after a gunman opened fire in the crowd at Zombicon, an annual convention for zombie lovers that attracts up to 20,000 people to Fort Myers, Fla. each year.

Police are still searching for the unidentified shooter. According to the Fort Myers News-Press, shots were fired shortly before midnight Saturday, sending a crowd of thousands of panicked zombie cosplayers running through the city's downtown streets.

As one witness pointed out to the newspaper, many of the zombie costumes included fake guns, which could add confusion to the investigation. Many of the nearby shops in the mostly quiet town don't even have surveillance cameras and there are no police cameras on the streets yet.

Expavious Tyrell Taylor, 20, a student and football player at a local community college died at the scene. The other five people were expected to survive their injuries.

One of them was shot 10 times, according to a GoFundMe page set up to raise money for medical bills.
