The Big Short has gifted us with a few visual treasures: an accessible breakdown of the financial crisis, for one; also Margot Robbie in a bathtub. If your fantasy of Margot Robbie popping Champagne while explaining economics in a sea of bubbles is anything like mine, her brief appearance in this behind-the-scenes clip is actual perfection. The cast and crew give us some cool commentary about the creative process of Adam McKay as well (but we're mostly all here for Margot).
The Big Short, a comedy-drama film adaptation of the Michael Lewis film by the same title, follows four "outsiders" in the high finance world played by Christian Bale, Brad Pitt, Steve Carell, and Ryan Gosling as they attempt to navigate the bubling housing credit markets leading up to and after the financial crisis of 2008. There's a fair amount of Wall Street jargon, but as producer Jeremy Kleiner notes in the video above, "Adam McKay makes this story completely accessible to everybody. You don't have to be an expert in economics." So enjoy this teaser of the making and then hit your nearest theater up for showtimes.
