Kamala Harris was set for an in-studio interview on The View on Friday, but those plans fell apart after two of the show’s hosts tested positive for COVID-19 during taping.

The awkward moment was caught on air, with co-host Joy Behar asking the crew what’s happening after Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro were asked to leave the stage. “As we always do on television when we’re in a tight spot, we’ll be right back,” said Behar.

Later on in the show, the hosts revealed why the two exited the show so abruptly. "Sunny and Ana apparently tested positive for COVID. No matter how hard we try these things happen," said  Behar, who appeared just as confused as viewers when the show hit the speed bump early on. “They probably have a breakthrough case. They will be OK I am sure because they are both vaccinated."

THarris was still scheduled to do her interview, and later she joined the show remotely to be interviewed by the two remaining hosts.

When she was finally introduced, the Vice President offered her best wishes to the co-hosts. "Sunny and Ana are strong women and I know they’re fine, but it really also does speak to the fact that they are vaccinated and vaccines make all the difference, 'cause otherwise we would be concerned about hospitalizations or worse," said Harris.
