Last year, it was revealed that Steve Carell was teaming up with The Office showrunner Greg Daniels for a new workplace comedy Space Force. Now Netflix has announced a May 29 premiere date for the hugely anticipated series, which will also star Lisa Kudrow as Carell's character's wife.

Netflix dropped a sneak peak on Twitter, featuring some stills from the series, which co-stars John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Jimmy O. Yang, Diana Silvers, Noah Emmerich, Alex Sparrow, Don Lake, and Tawny Newsome.

Created by Carell and Daniels, Space Force is loosely based on Trump's widely mocked conceit, and is set to follow Carell's General Mark R. Naird as he's recruited to lead the sixth branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. That's when he moves with his family to a remote base in Colorado, and is joined by a group of eccentric scientists.

Unlike many other TV productions, Space Force was not impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Filming of the first season of the show wrapped before countless others suspended production over COVID-19 concerns.
