Power Book II: Ghost has been renewed for Season 4 ahead of the premiere of Season 3 on Starz in March, and Michael Ealy is joining the cast.

As reported by Deadline, the 50 Cent-produced Power spinoff will return for a fourth season with the addition of Ealy, who will portray series regular Detective Don Carter. Season 4 has already entered production in New York. The third season is set to debut on March 17, and will consist of 10 episodes. There’s no date announced for the follow-up, but it’s expected to arrive sometime in 2024.

Ealy—perhaps best known for his roles in Barbershop2 Fast 2 Furious, and Takers—is looking to be a big part of the new slate of episodes. Per the announcement of his casting, his character Det. Don Carter is on track to become Police Commissioner at the NYPD before his wife is killed in a crossfire between two rival gangs. The violence causes his character to stop down from his role in an effort to make the streets safer as part of an elite drug task force.

“The high-octane drama of Power Book II: Ghost continues to resonate with our viewers and we’re thrilled to get season four production underway ahead of our season three debut,” said Kathryn Busby, president of original programming for Starz. “It’s clear our fans are ready to devour more of this explosive series and we look forward to having Michael join our incredible cast.”
