The new trailer for Marvel’s Eternals has arrived, and it asks the question of why the titular superheroes never interfered when Thanos wiped out half of the universe.

Giving just a bit more to go on than the previous look, the final trailer gives us a closer glimpse at the immortal superheroes at the core of the film. It also shows the threat they’ll be facing, and it would seem the crew has a lot to handle. Following the story of the titular Eternals, an immortal alien race that has been in hiding for centuries, the Chloé Zhao-directed film directly deals with the consequences of the restorative snap that went down at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

When those wiped out by Thanos in Infinity War were brought back to life by the Avengers, it kickstarted the Emergence, which doesn’t sound too inviting.

"Why didn’t you guys help fight Thanos, or any other war? All of the terrible things throughout history?” Kit Harington's character asks in the trailer, to which he is told that the Eternals were instructed not to get involved.
